Last night was better than yesterday morning…

People, I am so disgusted right now I can’t even go back to sleep. I went to sleep a few hours ago around 12 midnight. About fifteen minutes ago I was awoken by a cockroach crawling on my arm (at least I think that’s what it was) while I was sleeping! Usually my little kitten Meeyu sleeps right on my pillow, but tonight she didn’t.
Okay people, let me explain something before I get too into what happened. Understand that Meeyu, since she could run, has chased bugs… In particular cockroaches and she usually eats them. They are a delicacy to her.
Back to the story.
Like I said, a cockroach was crawling on my arm almost near my face. But at the time, I didn’t know it was a cockroach. My little kitten Meeyu normally sits on my pillow and puts her paw or whiskers on my arm near my face when I sleep at night. That’s her little way of letting me know she’s there. Peeps, I did what I normally do when she irritates me at night, I grabbed her paw… uh-oh, but hold on now, “this is no arm” I thought to myself quickly. How did I know? Because as soon as I grabbed the thing I squished it! AHHHHHHHHHH!
After I squished it, I smelled my fingers and arm and it was the most putrid smell I have ever smelled in my entire life. I swear. I mean, nothing has ever smelled that bad on my hands before. I freaked out and Kris woke up and freaked out because I freaked out. I kept on saying, “Oh my God, what is this horrible smell…what the hell was it that was on me…” When I went into my bathroom and turned on the light, I saw nothing on me at first, but then when I examined my forearm a little closer I saw some brown crusty stuff. This brown is the same brown as a cockroach. As I pondered in fright in the restroom of the bug rape I just experienced I quickly cleaned my forearm and fingers like there was no tomorrow.
After I cleaned myself and got rid of that rancid smell, I sat my butt on the toilet and as I took a quick piss, I looked down and saw my little Meeyu barely awake looking at me wondering what was wrong. She knows mama is never up at this time of the night.
After I finished, Meeyu was wide awake. I looked at her and said, “Mama cat, how come you weren’t sleeping on my pillow tonight? Baby, I need you to catch that cockroach!!” (At this point I felt like Cruella DeVille from 101 Dalmations…”kill those puppies” but instead I was thinking “kill that cockroach!!”)
I grabbed her cute little butt and put her on my pillow and said to her sweetly but intensely, “Mama, you gotta sleep with me because the cockroach will get me if you don’t sleep with me” and I thought she would stay with me, but she didn’t. She looked at me and I think she said, “Sorry, but no thanks” and then just as she was about to jump off the bed, she smelled the faint smell of cockroach! That’s right people, she was already hot on the case as a full-fledge cockroach assassin! You all should have seen it. It was breathtaking. She almost jumped off the bed, but as she did she smelled the trail and half her body clung to the edge of the bed. And then I told her, “Get the cockroach” and she darted right under the bed.
As I laid in bed, I couldn’t sleep but I knew she was chasing the cockroach because I could hear her chasing it and sratching at it. The bottom line though, is that right now I am too uncomfortable to sleep. I thought I’d share this with you all. 4:41 AM
Three Hand Solitaire
For the past two nights Kris, his mother, and I have been playing three hand solitaire. I barely learned how to play the game two nights ago, but Kris and his mother have been playing the game for years. I had actually never heard of it before, but then again, I didn’t really play board games when I was younger. I had two retired grandparents and a mother who was always at work. I basically played any type of game by myself, in other words, no board games whatsoever. Card games on the other hand I did play. My grandmother played go-fish and and blackjack with me about three times a week. As far as complex card games, I always wanted to learn how to play pinoccle because my grandparents played it every time they had a couple come over. Well, she taught Kris and I how to play the game last summer but she’s dead now. She died last October. Grandpa died last year in May.
John Kerry for President of the United States
Kris and I are independents, but for this presidential race in the USA we will vote for John Kerry and John Edwards. After watching Fahrenheit 9/11 I just cannot possibly even consider voting for George W. Bush. We are so disgusted with Bush for betraying our country. Hell, he was the governor of Texas for so long and we were so proud that he was our governor, but he’s let the wrong people into his cabinet and screwed our nation. It’s a really sad thing.
What made Kris and I decided come election time that we are going to vote for John Kerry? Simple. . . he was a Navy seal. Ya just can’t get any better than that when it comes to kickn’ butt.

Family Problems Resolved and Unresolved
As I said in the previous post, Kris and I had decided to go to his mother’s house to resolved some issues that we have between each other. Here is the deal:
Kris’s problem: He said that his mother was a b*tch and did this by abusing him via yelling.
Kris’s mom’s problem: She felt that Kris was destroying her.
My Issues: I felt that she was a b*tch that just couldn’t get over the past.
In reality: Kris’s father never let his mother discipline him, and so every time she did he considered his own mother to be a b*itch. Kris’s father mentally controlled his mother and Kris was doing the same to his mother. I had previously agreed with Kris because he omitted all the pain and grief she has gone through raising Kris. I found out yesterday and sincerely apologized to her. Kris did the same. Kris and I have a new idea of who she really is. She was a person who was not manipulative, but actually was being controlled and abused her whole life by those she loved and no one ever gave a hoot about her feelings.
The New Problem that is Unresolved
Craig (Kris’s brother) is currently living off his mother and abusive to her.
New Traditions
We are going to Catholic Mass with Kris’s mother on Saturdays and she is going to go with us to our Lutheran church on Sundays.
The Good News
The good news is that last night we talked to Kris’s mother and started to get some conflicts between her and Kris brought up and on the pathway to getting resolved. Later today we will be going to her house so that Kris and her can get some issues and tensions resolved. Kris and his mother have been resentful of each other for many years and so this is going to take a long time for the both of them to work their issues out.
The Bad News
In the process of moderating their conversation last night, we completely forgot my mother was on standby and my little brother was at home alone. My mother got paged and was forced to leave Shaquille at home by himself. You see, my mom’s an animal control officer (dog catcher) for the city of Brownsville in the state of Texas in the USA.
Besides the normal work week, every couple of weeks my mother is responsible for working on standby just like a doctor would at a hospital. If she gets paged by the police department, it could mean that someone got bit by a dog or that there might be a dog obstructing traffic and so she must leave at any time of the night after her normal work day or any time during the weekend. When mom is on standby she gets very little sleep because she gets so many pages in the middle of the night.
Back to Shaq. We totally forgot my mother was on standby because she didn’t get a page for several hours yesterday and for some reason, in our minds, we thought it was a normal Sunday. When we were at Kris’s mom’s house, all of the sudden Kris said, “Sh*t, your mother’s on standby and Shaquille is alone!” and I had a fit. We stormed out of the house just as fast as you can imagine going like 500 miles per hour on the expressway back home. When we got home, Shaq was in the bedroom alone (thank God he was safe). Shaq said to us, “I was alone, how could you forget me?” Needless to say, we felt very guilty about the whole thing.
When mom got home she was outraged and when she saw Kris outside she said, “What the f*ck is wrong with you?” and that totally freaked out Kris. I told Kris, “Babe, she’s really pissed now. I say it’s going to be around 2 weeks or more until she forgives us for this one…minimum one week before she even looks at us again”.
So as you’ve read people, there is no going back. We blew it. “Damn, we are in a tight spot.”

Back in the day I used to style my hair kinda long with a whole bunch of gel to make my hair lay down a little. But anyway, this was the first time I saw my father in my entire life. We don’t communicate right now, because we just don’t. I’ll have to talk about that story a little later some time. But in some, he was a dead-beat dad.

We just got back from watching the Bourne Supremacy. It was a great flick. It was just as exciting as Man on Fire, the movie we saw last night at the dollar movies. I bet you’re thinking, “If they are broke how the hell did they end up watching this new movie?” The answer? Kris’s brother Craig took us to go and see it. Craig is Kris’s bro and my brother in law.
The best part of the movie was probably the car scene… what am I talking about? The whole movie was great! If you like action, you’ll love this movie.
In other news. I am reading a book called People Skills: How to resolve conflict, listen to others, and resolve conflicts. We’ve had this book for about six months, and I read it once in a while when I feel like I am in a bind and can’t figure something out. I am reading this section about being “nice”. For your reading pleasure I’m going to quote some important points from this book:
