Click here to read the femtique review of the movie The Descent (2006) as well as a new personal entry. Please make sure to change your bookmarks, because “for better or for worse” is ending in March. I will only be updating entries from Femtique on this blog from now on.

My new domain is at femtique.net. Now, I have to do all the work of setting up this new blog. Installing wordpress, finding a cool theme and working on it, installing plugins, etc. I’ll let everyone know when the site is perfectly up and running. Here’s a breakdown of what femtique is all about = “feminist critique”. I’ll be reviewing pop media such as movies, video games, and t.v. shows. It’s my way of getting back into pop culture FEMINIST style. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get femtique.com because someone already has it, but that’s okay. It will expire April 2007, so I’ll make sure to get it then.
I’ll be devoting most of my blogging time to this new site, so entries will be sparse (in fact . . . they might be non-existent). I also have a new email address: femtique@gmail.com as well as a new del.icio.us account at del.icio.us/femtique
Femtique will be my new handle for a while until I get bored of being a critical feminist thinker (if that ever happens?!) LOL. Make sure to to check back to femtique.net every so often to see the updates.

I want to let everyone know that krisandapril.us is not going to exist much longer. I am planning on buying another domain. I’ll let you know the details later, but it’s a big step and it’s going to be a lot of fun. Just know it has to do with feminism. I’ll still have a mini-blog with personal entries, but the majority of the blog will be something entirely different. You all are going to be surprised when you see it. In the meantime, I still need to upload photos from the Kansas City vacation as well as my holiday trip down to Brownsville. My flickr photos should be added with my RSS feed once updated.
Tonight though, Kris and I are going to watch movies we rented at Blockbuster. We rented 6 movies! We also signed up for the Total Acess Blockbuster online pass so that we are never without a good movie to watch. Kris and I have not rented movies in some time, and we love to watch movies.
In case you are wondering why I haven’t been blogging as much as I normally do, it’s been because I’ve been so unbelievably tied up lately. I just got back from Brownsville on Jan. 3, and Kris and I had a lot of shopping to do. Not to mention, Kris and I had to do a lot of cleaning in the house. Kris did our room and I did the kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom and kitchen are used by all the housemates, but they don’t do much cleaning, so when we are gone for an extended period of time, the place looks disasterous. I still need to rearrange the bathroom closet, and Kris needs to finish up the room, but other than that we are practically done. So! We have all the groceries we need and all the movies we need. The house is almost clean, and we are getting ready to watch a good flick. Tonight’s matinee is “The Descent”.
Oh, I forgot . . . my interview at Child Protective Services for my field placement went well. It was a group interview — so no pressure. I am looking forward to interning at CPS. This upcoming semester is going to be quite a doosie. 16 hours of field and 20 hours of work for a total of 36 hours. How I will find the time to study still baffles me. School starts Jan. 16 for Kris and I, and in the meantime, this weekend will be a nice romantic stay-at-home holiday, because Monday Kris has to go back to work ((sigh)). Oh well. That’s okay though, because we are going to make the time we have romantic bliss. Intimate conversations and intimate cuddling at home will be nothing but heaven.
